8.2.5. A cable of a choice of transfers

Check

When the lever of a gear change in the car moves from position N to other positions, it should move smoothly and precisely to each position, and the index of position of the included transfer should specify exact position. If index indications do not coincide with correct position of the lever of a gear change, adjust a cable of a choice of transfers as follows:

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check up that the gear change lever is established in neutral position.
2. Check up that the engine can be started only in position of the lever of gear change NEUTRAL or PARK.
3. Check up that backing lanterns light up at reverse gear inclusion.

Adjustment

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the gear change lever in neutral position.
2. Lift the car and fix on supports.
3. On the bottom end of the lever of a gear change ослабьте a back nut of adjustment of a cable.
4. Move a cable of the lever of a gear change so that the lever on a transmission could move to all positions freely.
5. Establish the lever of a choice of transfers on a transmission in neutral position, having moved it against the stop forward, then on two clicks back (directions are specified by arrows).
6. Rotate a forward nut on a cable until it will not concern the bottom part of the lever of a gear change (the direction is specified by an arrow) then tighten a back nut, having tightened its demanded moment.
7. Check up work of the lever of a gear change.
8. Lower the car.
