The backlash should be in limits from 0,5 to 2,5 mm.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a wire of weight from the accumulator.
2. Establish the piston of the first cylinder in ВМТ in a compression step.
3. Remove приводные belts.
4. Remove assemblage of the air filter.
5. Remove the tension mechanism приводного a belt of the compressor of a central air of air.
6. Remove the radiator fan together with a casing.
7. Unscrew a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a cranked shaft, thus, using a special chain key, keep a pulley from проворачивания.
8. Remove a pulley of a cranked shaft.
9. Remove central and two lateral casings of a gear belt.
10. Turn a pulley of a cranked shaft so that labels on a pulley of a cranked shaft and on pulleys of the left and right camshafts were combined with indexes (see fig. the Arrangement of adjusting labels the engine 2,2).
11. Using a white paint, note mutual position of a gear belt and a pulley of a cranked shaft, and also a gear belt and pulleys of camshafts, and also position of pulleys of camshafts rather each other (the Arrangement of adjusting labels fig. see pulleys of the right camshafts of the engine of 2,5 l and the Arrangement of adjusting labels on pulleys of the left camshafts of the engine 2,5).
12. Ослабьте bolts of fastening of the mechanism of a tension also remove a single pulley (the Arrangement of a pulley of the mechanism of a tension and a single pulley fig. see the engine 2,2).
13. Remove a gear belt.
14. Remove a pulley from a cranked shaft.
15. Unscrew bolts and remove the mechanism of a tension of a gear belt (the Arrangement of a bolt of fastening of the mechanism of a tension of a gear belt fig. see models since 1998).
16. Keeping special flat-nose pliers pulleys of camshafts from проворачивания, unscrew bolts of fastening of pulleys and remove pulleys from camshafts.

Check


The prevention

Do not overwind and do not bend a gear belt. Exclude hit on a gear belt of the oil, cooling liquid or fuel.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove single pulleys and check up a condition of their bearings.
2. If has occurred выкрашивание teeths of a gear belt, probably, the oil pump or a camshaft (fig. Defects of a gear belt in a kind выкрошенного a tooth or cracks at the tooth basis see) is jammed.

The prevention

If there was a rupture of a gear belt on the working engine, probably that there was an impact of pistons about the valve therefore the valve can be погнуты. Check up backlashes of valves. On погнутых valves клапанные backlashes will be much more demanded.


3. If there is a considerable deterioration or stratification on an external surface of a gear belt, check up a condition of a racetrack of single pulleys.
4. If there is a deterioration or damage only on one party of a belt, check up directing a gear belt and alignment of pulleys of a gear belt.
5. In the presence of any defects on a gear belt it is necessary to replace it.

Installation

Installation of the mechanism of a tension on models till 1997

Sequence of installation of a gear belt


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. If internal casings of a gear belt acted in film, establish them on a place (fig. the Arrangement of bolts of fastening of an internal casing of a gear belt see).
2. Establish pulleys of a gear belt on camshafts and fix bolts, having tightened their demanded moment.
3. Establish a pulley of a gear belt on a cranked shaft. Check up combination of adjusting labels with indexes on all pulleys.
4. Establish a single pulley of the mechanism of a tension.
5. Before installation of the mechanism of a tension on models till 1997 press плунжер and fix its pin (fig. Sequence of installation of a gear belt see).
6. Before installation of the mechanism of a tension on engines since 1998 establish the tension mechanism under a press and slowly press плунжер and fix a pin.
7. Establish a gear belt on pulleys (Installation of a gear belt fig. see engine SOHC 2,2).
8. On engines DOHC installation of a gear belt on pulleys makes in certain sequence (Installation of the mechanism of a tension fig. see models till 1997).
9. Establish single pulleys.
10. On models to 1997 ослабьте bolts of fastening of the mechanism of a tension also move the tension mechanism to the left and fix bolts.
11. Take a pin fixing плунжер of the mechanism of a tension. Check up that all adjusting labels on pulleys are correctly combined with indexes.
12. Establish directing a gear belt and fix bolts (fig. the Arrangement of bolts of fastening directing a gear belt, backlash Check between directing and a gear belt see).
13. Establish casings of a gear belt and a pulley of a cranked shaft.
14. The further installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
