3.16.19. Survey of pistons
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before check of pistons with rods remove from pistons piston rings and carefully clear pistons.
2. For removal of piston rings from pistons unclench a piston ring and insert under a ring in regular intervals on a circle of 2 or 3 old edges щупа and on them shift a ring from the piston.
3. Be careful. Do not scratch the piston the ring ends. Rings very fragile also can burst, if them to unclench very strongly. Working edges of piston rings very sharp, therefore address with them very cautiously not to be cut.
4. Hold each set of rings together with pistons for their repeated installation on the places.
5. Clear all traces of a deposit from the top part of the piston.
6. Remove a deposit from flutes under piston rings in the piston, using the special tool or an old piston ring.
7. After touch removal clear the piston corresponding solvent and wipe dry.
8. Carefully examine each piston on presence of cracks round a skirt and an aperture under a piston finger.
9. Check up deterioration on a piston skirt, an aperture in a piston head, and also прожог in the top part of the piston.
10. Using a new piston ring and an edge щупа, check up a backlash of a piston ring in a piston flute.
11. Traces of dot corrosion on the piston specify that the cooling liquid got to the combustion chamber. It is necessary to find the reason of hit of a cooling liquid in the chamber of combustion and to eliminate it.
12. Measure diameter of the piston at an angle 90 to an axis of a piston finger and on distance of 50 mm from top.
