Steering wheel free wheeling

The steering wheel free wheeling is a corner on which it is necessary to turn a steering wheel before the beginning of turn of forward wheels of the car.

The car costs on the earth

1. Establish forward wheels for movement directly forward. Check up a steering wheel free wheeling. If the free wheeling exceeds admissible limits, bearings of wheels, hinges of a steering shaft, spherical support and the steering mechanism can be worn out.
2. Excessive lists of the car, the raised vibration of a body on rough road, rocking on turns testifies to damage to a steering and a suspension bracket.
3. For the control of shock-absorbers shake the car pressing each of four corners of the car. If the body has not returned to initial position for one or two courses, it is necessary to replace the shock-absorber.
4. Check up position of a body concerning the earth. If there is a list on the party either forward or back springs, most likely, have given or suspension bracket details are worn out.

On the lifted car

1. Examine a condition of hinges of a steering shaft, presence of leaks from the steering mechanism, integrity of protective covers and consolidations.
2. Check up люфт wheels for what take a wheel hands in position of 12 and 6 hours and try to shake it in a vertical plane. Very small люфт it is admissible, but if люфт enough big the further check is necessary.
3. To establish a source, continue to swing a wheel while the assistant presses a foot brake. If люфт it is eliminated or it is considerably reduced that, it is probable that nave bearings are damaged. If люфт it is still considerable with the pressed brake, means, there is a deterioration in connections and suspension bracket fastenings.
4. Now take a wheel in position 9 and 3 hours and try to shake it in a horizontal plane. Presence люфта in a horizontal plane can be caused deterioration in bearings of a nave or spherical hinges of steering draught. If internal or external spherical шарнирное connection is worn out, люфт will be obvious.
5. Using the big screw-driver as the lever, check up deterioration in plugs of fastening of a suspension bracket between elements of a suspension bracket and an appendix point.
6. Check up a protective cover of steering transfer.
7. Check up a condition of rubber elements of a suspension bracket and integrity of protective covers.
8. Examine rubber protective covers of hinges of equal angular speeds, compressing them for disclosing of bends.
9. Check up protective covers on presence of cracks which can lead to greasing leak, and also to penetration in water and a dirt. Also check up a condition of fixing collars. Examine covers of internal hinges of equal angular speeds and casings on the other hand. If any damage it is necessary to replace a cover immediately is found.
